For years, Morton's The Steakhouse, with its dozens of locations throughout the country, has been a highly successful restaurant chain. Known especially for steaks, Morton's caters to many businesses that host meetings and other corporate events.

Barbara A. Rodriguez, Sales & Marketing Manager of Morton's, in New York, offers insightful tips for throwing corporate events during a time of budget restraints--while still offering guests great food in a stylish environment.

Anticipate everything you'll need. One of the best ways to save money is to "consider locations that are all-inclusive," says Rodriguez. "For example, if you know you are going to need audio/visual equipment, a restaurant such as Morton's can offer you that in-house. That way, costs are lower than they would be if you had to secure equipment and services on your own."

The key is to find a venue that has well established vendor partnerships. That way, you eliminate costs associated with outsourcing, she maintains.

Start with an attractive setting. "Look for a space that is already well appointed and that will need little-to-no decoration," Rodriguez advises. Selecting an attractive environment means "that you do not have to outsource this service as well."
