Parmesan stuffed dates

Serves 24 pieces

Ingredients

24 large dates, pitted

2 oz. piece Parmigiano-Reggiano chesse

4 oz. sliced prosciutto

24 pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Toast pecans on a baking sheet 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.
  3. Turn the oven up to 450 degrees.
  4. Cut prosciutto into 24 strips.
  5. Cut hard cheese into 24 small slivers.
  6. Cut a slit into each date.
  7. Stuff 1 pecan half and 1 sliver of cheese into each date.
  8. Wrap each stuffed date with a strip of prosciutto.
  9. Place the dates on a baking sheet in preheated oven.
  10. Bake 6 to 8 minutes, until cheese is soft and prosciutto is crisp.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature.
