New take on American favorites
Who says fast food can't inspire sophisticated fare? Country Roads Catering, of Amityville, New York, used the White Castle fast food chain for inspiration when it created its complex filet mignon variation. The flavorful beef is seared on the outside, then cut into a square and served on a square bun and garnished with a crisp cornichon. Lobster salad is nestled in brioche bread cut into the shape of a tiny hot dog, while the all-American clam bake is simply a select few bay scallops served with crawfish, baby corn, and tiny potatoes in a scallop shell.
