FOOD FOR PARTIES

Winter white chili

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

1/2 lb. boneless pork loin or 2 boneless pork chops, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

1/2 cup onion, chopped

1 tsp. vegetable oil

1 16-oz. can navy beans, drained

1 16-oz. can chick-peas, drained

1 16-oz. can

1 14-1/2-oz. can chicken broth

1 cup wild rice, cooked

1 4-oz. can diced green chilies, drained

1-1/2 tsp. ground cumin

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce

Chopped fresh parsley and shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. In 4-quart saucepan, saute pork and onion in oil over medium-high heat until onion is soft and pork is lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients except parsley and shredded cheese.
  3. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve each portion garnished with parsley and shredded cheese.
