Cake balls
Serves 36 cake balls
Ingredients
1 18.25-oz. pkg. standard cake mix (chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, or any other)
1 16-oz. container prepared frosting (chocolate, vanilla, cream cheese, or any other)
1 pkg. of chocolate or white chocolate almond bark (for coating)
Instructions
- Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl, and stir in the frosting until well blended.
- Melt chocolate coating in a glass bowl in the microwave, or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls of the chocolate cake mixture. Dip the balls in chocolate using a toothpick or fork to hold them. Place on waxed paper to set.

- Chocolate cake with caramel frosting||
- Strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting||
- Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting||
- Carrot cake with cream cheese or vanilla frosting||
- White cake with cherry frosting||
- Decorations: (optional): Roll freshly dipped cake balls in: bright-colored or chocolate sprinkles, piped icing, shredded coconut, finely chopped nuts, crushed candy, powdered sugar, etc.||
