Flameless candles: Beautiful lights for parties
Right after we sent out our October newsletter (subscribe here), we got a thoughtful message from one of our readers, Shari Peyser, of Melville, New York.

"Flameless candles are inexpensive, batteries can be changed when they wear out, and you do not have to worry about burning down the house. No, I don't work for any of these companies. But my husband is a volunteer firefighter. Candles and unattended cooking are big causes of home fires..."
Thanks, Shari! And here are some lovely and inexpensive battery-operated LED candles that you may want to consider buy—especially if you have children and/or pets at home, or if candles could be unattended even for a minute.
