Party food trends for 2008?
In late November, 2007, a poll of culinary professionals indicated that the cuisine most likely to tempt us in the New Year would be Pan-Asian.

Dishes such as Tom Kha Kai, left, a spicy Thai coconut soup with chicken, are expected to show up on the menus at special occasion events everywhere, this year.
The poll, conducted by Pro-Chef, a newsletter sponsored by the Culinary Institute of America, puts the current American favorite, Italian food, in fourth place. Here are the results of the poll. So far, the predictions have been remarkably accurate!
Pan-Asian: 28%
Hispanic: 24.57%
Middle Eastern: 20%
Italian: 17%
American: 10.29%
