Tickets to most sporting events are available online at team Web sites. Another option is to check out or StubHub, a ticket resale marketplace recently acquired by ebay, where you may be able to find deals on sporting events that interest you (or other members of your family).

If, in fact, Dad’s favorite sports team plays in another city, you may want to go all out and send him and the kids on a celebrity-style sports-trip.

Some hotels may offer special father’s day packages similar to those currently being offered by the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers and the Westin Chicago River North for Chicago Cub’s fans. The package includes hotel accommodations, food and drinks an hour and a half before game time, and two bleacher seats. This special offer is only available on the weekend of June 15-17th and package prices vary according to the hotel and the number of nights you would like to stay.

At the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers packages for a two-night stay cost $259 per room (Friday-Saturday) and $359 per room for a one-night stay (Saturday). Another way to make dad and the kids feel like baseball VIPs for a day is to send them on a Big League Baseball Tour.
