The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA)." selected the toys on this list not because they're being hyped everywhere. Rather, they chose toys that create fun and excitement for kids, but also build creativity, support social development, and are intellectually stimulating.

All of the following are on ASTRA's top toy picks for the holidays, for birthdays, or for simply for grandmas, aunts, or godmothers who want to give a favorite child a treat.
